Flagstone & River Rock Patio

Flowing flagstone and river rock patio built by Lennox Masonry in Victoria BC

Vision

This flagstone and river rock patio project began with the intention to create an area of hosting and entertainment for the homeowners and their respective guests. However, while still functioning as initially intended, it quickly became an art installation above all else. The patio features locally quarried and split flagstone from the Port Renfrew area on Vancouver Island, as well as river rocks from Courtenay, BC.

Lennox Masonry was tasked with excavating, grading, and then pouring a concrete slab prior to the stonework. The flagstone was then cut and chiselled to fit while leaving an opening for a river rock feature. The feature was designed to create flow, both aesthetically and functionally, for optimal drainage. Larger river rocks were thenplaced to add a sense of depth and dynamics to the stone feature.
